The Class of 2009

THE 2008-09 ACADEMIC YEAR

During this year of economic turmoil throughout the country, Franklin Academy’s enrollment remained steady at seventy-five students, and initiatives were set in motion to attract a larger enrollment in future years.  First, the administration petitioned the Federal Government for permission to begin enrolling international students with Nonverbal Learning Differences and Asperger’s Syndrome, and this approval was secured for the 2009-10 academic year.  Second, a new program – The Franklin Learning Institute – was developed to serve young adults of college age with NLD and AS.  The school also created another satellite dormitory to house eight boarders.  At the end of a productive and satisfying year, we graduated our largest senior class, numbering 23 students – 13 young men and 10 young women.  What follows are the book awards, certificates, faculty and senior speeches, and diplomas presented at graduation.
